There is no salvage to be found in advice. Only in succeeding. https://t.co/wzvRhBiGZH

We’re trying to play a different game. Called “look at me and don’t judge please!” We’re playing that game so much of our lives. Playing by what we know we can justify. Interpreting our actions through the screen of others. https://t.co/MuSYqhSfVW

When we are demurring, or apologising, or fretting—we are not playing the game. When we are anything but sunk, whole-heartedly advocating for ourselves—we are not playing the game. We are playing a different game. Called “Look at me and don’t judge me, please.” https://t.co/9HEOb0sfH5

It’s really tough to break free and actually just want to win at the game. https://t.co/gZV14tAvrP

It makes sense. Human beings only won by being reliant on each other. What others thought really did matter more than how much you were actually winning. You didn’t want to be abandoned. https://t.co/SF1jFmcE7b

It is tough to break free and actually just want to play the game. Maybe we need to address the unsafety we feel first, about being not loved or abandoned. Maybe it’s the felt resolution with that that lets one truly play the game.

Feeling loved is a friendship pillow upon which to play the game. It makes it much less dramatic, instead of a tortured, ashamed version of still trying to feel loved. https://t.co/20uHjrsDFM
