I’m not gonna get any work done today while my brain decaffeinates so I’m going to watch Michael Scott, Catwoman and The Rock and in some kind of secret agent spy movie from 2008 https://t.co/rjYOb8kqJu

@visakanv hmmm, interesting so for media, like people, I'm often tracking what they're "trying" to do, and if I don't think you succeed or if you're "trying to hard" (forcing an impression, telling not showing) you lose points But I think I evaluate older stuff a bit diff

@visakanv Like, watching Get Smart or Hoagan's Heros feels more like an anthropological journey They were absolutely *not* trying to get me, born several generations after it ended, to have a certain impression so some criticality drops

@visakanv been thinking about how I and others interpret how media "tries" recently I enjoyed S1 of "Patriot" and one think that jumped out was they seduced me such that I didn't feel the "forcefully hand" of the writers.
