Ep 1–5: You can really tell it’s 1995. The animations, sound effects, pacing—oh god, the pacing. I feel so spoiled by animé like The Promised Neverland that craft the intensity and energy of each moment to skilfully. Playing on 1.5x for now.

NGE reminds me of Avatar: The Last Airbender. It’s such a show I love, but so hard to get into if you don’t have that emotional bond, or are watching with someone who does. The first few episodes all feel the same-ish, and more of each other.

@DarbraDawn @KenBearIsland on episode 8; struggling. I’m glad I stuck through the first 30m of Holy Mountain, because I really did love it after that. Is there a point where NGE picks up? https://t.co/JQmUYK6AXM

I love a few slices of chocolate cake, and I want something else after a few. https://t.co/zZNiIHvwA6

im actually really digging this stretch the weird completely unhinged deep philosophical remarks out of nowhere are totally my thing and the tension of what is fundamental trauma is deep https://t.co/F8Nk3iYRu9

The theme song feels like home. A kind of weird and lonely and happy I know. Like I’d be welcome. https://t.co/UHCNk3NKrM

Sometimes people takes pieces of media as personal insults. This show feels like the opposite of that, whatever it may be. It made me feel I wasn’t crazy 😢 https://t.co/nBUrzI2ykm
