The only thing that made sense to me is the ground is my friend, and me

I feel the there-ness of the ground. The way it’s there. I feel the there-ness of my body above it I feel the way the ground supports me My body becomes just a particular storehouse of sensations. Existing in a much more vast mind I feel grounded, felt & supported by th ground https://t.co/abgP15LdpM

I experience the me-ness of the there-ness as a self-evident fact. https://t.co/kSRgpDTnG2

It’s very Dzogchen. I made up the words “me-ness” and “there-ness”; and the whole making the ground a friend thing I got from a friend who used to make trees her friend. https://t.co/D2VQV4cdrk

Hug them. Respect them. Admire them. My friend Hana used to say: Trees are wise. They have a lot of wisdom inside each of them. She used to walk around so reventially, I haven’t forgotten it.

If you know Dzogchen, though, it should be familiar. The one taste of all sense-fields. The there-ness (~= energy?) underlying all awareness, thought, and perception.

It’s expansive. It’s always there. What’s it’s like to have the ground as a friend—it extends out everywhere around me. I get to settle into that expansiveness comfortably, as my body on top figures things out, this time unworried.

If the ground couldn’t feel you, how could you feel it? Newton’s Second Law of Emotion.
