What prompted this: I was biking back from a long trip. Noticed myself pedaling and pedaling, really uncomfortable. With any partner of mine, I would have noticed and said—shhh, it’s ok. I remember musing as a child, about the Switch. It was a critique of society as I saw it, where I saw people say they just needed grades, then just a degree, then just needed a job, as if at some point, a switch would flip, and their real life would start.
