Something helpful for me was that *what I am doing* when I am talking about women is not speaking of the hopelessly diverse category of people in the world, but about the *concept in my head*, of women. https://t.co/TkRpdPaLlZ

So it is helpful when people like @jessicamalonso recognise what is happening, and point it out to people. https://t.co/kpbw4uwIUY

We are aiming for nothing short of the destruction of the concept and return to the individual in front of you when you interact. https://t.co/WJafPF8B3b

The danger, though, is in trying to abandon something you are holding just like that. https://t.co/UBTfiKCIeH

It is a projection, but that doesn’t mean it’s fake. It’s real. It has truth to it. It says something true about you. https://t.co/EqufIQqNOj

wrong response: [reads thread] [freaks out!!!!] [tries to delete the concept of women from his head] literally this is still the thing where you’re trying to do something so you can be more acceptable to women in general

did i tell you to delete it? did any specific woman tell you to delete it? no??? so this means you were responding again to the concept of “what women want” in your head yelling “STOP HAVING THIS CONCEPT!!!”? nw babe, let’s sit down and chill

To be kind also means being kind; to yourself when you’re having this concept. https://t.co/7akzs6rMhp

The category of people in the world (“women”) — that is becoming ever more obsolete as we knock down rigidly-held societal-survival this-or-that roles to afford increasing autonomy & nuance — and the intense internalisation of the concept of them.

@AskYatharth we cannot completely destroy the false concept and completely return to the individual in front of you, because this would literally require ego death in the observer but to reign it in and be aware of its effects is a very laudable goal
