Ants will retreat unless other ants are around. You can make an ant fight without support by transposing the smell of other ants from the same tribe.https://t.co/RoS6DU8ulC https://t.co/LEcu5ouyt1

I suspect similarly as in humans, the role of "oxytocin-like peptide" 'inotocin' may be involved, as it is related to metabolic activity that would be downstream of hunger. https://t.co/Ohk6d0FLdN https://t.co/qxivqSYIF1TL;DR: older ants forage more, sensitive to friend/foe?

Something interesting is this also impacts reproductive behavior in beetles https://t.co/55tLoeygepWould be interesting to see how this chemical interacts in multi-queen colonies of honeypot ants that eventually result in Regicide.

I spend a lot of time trying to find out why ants kill each other so I can get them to stop. The same could be said of my interest in human behavior, sans experimentation.https://t.co/gJw0nMFfMy

Did you know that they use COLD towels to calm down people who are acting overtly aggressive? Why would excessively hitting the cold/pressure sensitive TRPM8 (a known receptor for testosterone) lead to calming? What is a weighted blanket anyway?https://t.co/IKcVbmFGbs

Even if my speculative theory is complete B.S. I still think whatever inspired the idea is funny. The hypothalamus is usually small, an area that also controls body temperature and "a region that synthesizes the social hormones oxytocin and vasopressin"https://t.co/myPUOZPzZZ

I know every mechanism involved in this process. I used to use something like this on myself: I would go lay in the snow in shorts, and then take a hot shower.https://t.co/wsHZFaNdjXprobably one of the most uncomfortable ways to calm myself down. but it worked. https://t.co/kwIXGIMtQu

I learned in highschool that walking in the cold to the bus stop, then sitting in front of the heater would wake me up and get me to stop feeling off. I replicated it with snow and a hot shower.Of course we use it to torture autistic kids.https://t.co/dLQVR6wKrL

One of the things I found that reverses my meltdowns is literally used to torture people.https://t.co/MXEvBfX8q3Parents actively use TRPV1 activation this to abuse children as a punishment. It's monstrous.https://t.co/585txW04MWI hate it.https://t.co/vcMTyeFiZW

This activates immune system via TRP receptors in the skin and induces lipid metabolism and brown adipose tissue to start generating heat and produce bile. It's like inducing a mini fever. https://t.co/dIuVeuDfXrI used it on myself to do homework during unused morning period.

I think part of my extreme response was due to bad diet. I was getting brainfog from a diabetes-like insulin issue tied to a slow progression of M.S. and Crohn's related intestinal inflammation.TL;DR: I was getting hangry via poor lipid regulation.https://t.co/cXKZpKkPYC

These mechanisms are crutches. If I stopped eating lots of fatty food and dried meat, the effect went away. I realized now that what I was doing 18 years ago to fix my self was a sort of therapy for an underlying immune disorder tied intimately to poor lipid metabolism.

Metabolic issues tied to poor bile acid production and lipid digestion is likely why stuff like this shows up around autism https://t.co/FBRGh2spYh https://t.co/LpuqAb9IDLAnd suggests a mechanism by which Keto improves symptoms.

Capsaicin tincture works similar. Reduces panic and aggression in me."results suggest that capsaicin stimulates lipid mobilization from adipose tissue and lowers the perirenal adipose tissue weight and serum triglyceride concentration in lard-fed rats." https://t.co/gMDo7MxATa

Aggression in male hamsters is partly driven by fat."Aggressive behavior, which is important for the successful acquisition and defense of resources, may be of significance for adaptation and evolution of metabolic rate." [2008] https://t.co/omMRtDVeQ4

It's amazing how many serotoninergic gut bacteria play a role in FXR and bile acid synthesis and absorption. Why would children with GI issues exhibit higher rates of aggression (or, self-harm like head banging)?A long hunch. https://t.co/nuB59mzXTY

IN RATS..."mainly rest and sleep during the day and are active at night. For the resting period, if given a choice, rats select areas with an ambient temperature of 25-30C, while during the active nocturnal period they select temperatures between 17-25C" https://t.co/fnoVSVev4z https://t.co/oBn7qpEu7z

Going to go drink some whole-milk kefir w/ lactic acid bacteria that have been shown to improve body weight. Not b/c I care about obesity, but because I care about being able to maintain my immune function & lipid metabolism. TL;DR: Less grumpy asshole.https://t.co/t683AUor2S

Three days of high-fat kefir (lifeway) and two days of ghee (organic valley) and I have access to memory again and world doesn't feel as cold.Still distractible af, but way more functional.Gotta focus on getting fish back in my diet. Turns out it'd been more than 2 months.
