The reason psy-op is the idea that you need a reason at all. It’s the idea that if you don’t have a reason, you must ignore the conflicting intuition or conflicting desire, it makes no sense.

The reason psy-op overshadows the desires and reality of wants that are already there. https://t.co/NZtUl8jnce

« Truth is what u can independently verify yourself. Reality is what others can collaboratively verify » emotions are true, facts are real

Imagine wanting something and then asking yourself “Why?” It’s not the asking why that’s a problem. It’s the ignoring of *regardless of if you have a reason*, you do want it anyway. We overshadow the reality of what is true with what is real & legible. https://t.co/udqNt4kfcc

Imagine someone saying, “Can you pass me the chili flakes today? I want food to be a bit spicier today.” Imagine asking to that “Oh, why? Is that right?” as your hand hovers over the chili flakes. Checking, before taking as fact. We do this to ourselves.

Kids understand this much better than us. There does not need to be a reason to do and want something. Live firmly in the true, without losing your grip of what is real. https://t.co/XdMLPdWneu

For the kids, walking around the castle was not a matter of reason. It was a matter of simply preference and respect. It is a psy-op that said there needed to be a reason at all. https://t.co/xpSHbMSDVJ

Morality is its own psy-op, but one way of the way it manifests is in humans sufficiently well programmed to doubt what they want, if it’s “immoral” or “wrong”, they’ll doubt what they want or the trueness and rightness of what they want. https://t.co/EnqXo3loh4

“That’s rude” is short-hand for “I didn’t like what you did, and I am invoking the moral authority of social norms to side with me here.”

Just because you want something *doesn’t mean* you should get it. It does mean there would be a rightness to giving you it, if it is a sincere want. Do not let the real overshadow the true.

This is the reason psy-op. The doubting, the frailty of the true, in face of the reasonable and justifiable. The recommendation for rationalists and others constrained this way is to give no fucks about the real for a while and focus just on the true. https://t.co/a8WzFzDSHh

Too often, in questions of conflict, there is one side, and the other. We have a very firm grasp of one side, and a responsiveness to the ways it feels right and wrong, and not so much the other. So we overshadow the other. https://t.co/vwgWdZDmnv

Every day, I just asked myself ‘hey what do u wanna do rn?’ And I am privileged and lucky enough to be able to do whatever the answer is. And over time | didn’t have to ask anymore. My body just told me https://t.co/uswDwgrgj5

Second one: “only doings things per feeling.” Stopping doing sth if the feelings stop. https://t.co/hmecx4dsZd

Addendum: The reason psy-op making you doubt your happy feeling. As if it couldn’t co-exist around doubt. As if doubt somehow made this thing you know you just felt never exist. https://t.co/lmf1rBFl4L

@prerationalist You really are happy, and still happy—even if you don’t know the reason why. Not knowing the reason doesn’t somehow magically make your experience not so. So don’t doubt your experience. It’s a weird trap heady people fall into.
