Purifying gut bacteria with red wine and fibers of unleavened bread, vs purifying with the immune cells of freshly killed calf. There's more than one way to rid yourself of bacterial demon possession infecting your soul.Ever steelman speaking to god?https://t.co/0MT8ouATFj https://t.co/2utWJYbq7I

I don't think it was a metaphor. However I don't think it was the flesh of man / cannibalism. I think it was talking about literally the fibers in the wafer being the material, and alcohol is the life-blood (fuel). What was mammon? A mushroom body that nourishes.teonanácatl?

Everything in the past make more sense if you assume "spirits" were an early model of living things that included bacteria and infectious agents that defile the temple that houses the life giving soul.https://t.co/bEaTtn0wHi

Demons speak to me thru the gut brain axis. Cause untold suffering. Gotta purify my soul with the blood of christ and his wafer, lol. Early prebiotics.https://t.co/4BrWzMUkfQ

These mythos about gut bacteria and possessions aren't just in Christian mythos. It shows up in every culture I've dug into. In our ignorance we misinterpret them as myths or symbolic ritual.https://t.co/Ty3aXLqyMK

@strnglft Lots of demons are making themselves known. The kappa demon "are often accused of assaulting humans in water and removing a mythical organ called the shirikodama from their victim's anus."https://t.co/Rvh50OaW4OWhat is a microbiome anyway?https://t.co/pHAUmZ8Wds

When you see past the inferential distance, so much screams bacterial infection. We dismisses these models as not being scientific. But we throw the baby out with the ass water.https://t.co/YnI1mwefbN

Just so everyone is clear. "Demon sperm" is when you get raped by someone with bacteria on their dick and the woman gets a pelvic infection that causes ovarian cancer. But that must have been lost in translation. This took me two seconds to find:https://t.co/H2Mz1bgj6H

Witchcakes: feed bacterial metabolites from urine onto a piece of unleavened bread mixed w/ specific herbs & plant fibers. Resulting fermented product, when fed to a dog, acts as a medical test for pathogens that impacts it's microbiome.Church didn't like personalized medicine.

Do you ever coat your cauldron with the blood of a healthy freshly killed animal to have the animal's white blood cells sterilize local pathogens endemic to your environment?Great if you wanna make a medical tincture and not infect an immune compromised person with pathogens.

We fucking inject people with antigens to fight the plague, and call it science. But someone does this in antiquity and you call it myth and superstition. The church created strawmen out of witches and then burned them at the stake for practicing medicine without a blessing.

@hamidr_ I certainly think it's possible that ancient regions might have been using 'soul' or 'spirit' as a metaphor to capture phenomena that they weren't able to see with microscopes. With much of it lost in translation. Many culture's "Demons" can be loosely traced to real parasites.

*eye twitches*https://t.co/eipr8Oef3R

When they say "the eyes are the window to the soul" they mean "you can notice how perturbations in someone's gut bacteria manifest in motor control issues related to eye movement and we are wired to sense oddities (like eye shape/movement patterns) at a visceral emotional level"
