twitter is one of the best places to "have" a scene, but all of us who are already here tend to underestimate how confusing it is to people who maybe signed up a decade ago and mostly think of it as a sort of text content stream to follow celebrities on
"let's assemble 1,000 interesting upcoming youtubers" is a superb power move that youtube does nothing to incentivize or encourage. I suppose they can count on their users figuring it out and they have other bottlenecks/concerns
but like this is the crazy thing to me about... the whole world, actually. was just talking to eigen about this. amazing things could happen but nobody is really incentivized to do anything about it, so we have this weird sort of... what did EY call it... inadequate equilibria

you see how this works? if they have 10 subs I don't know if they're still going to make a video next month. if they have 100,000 subs they probably aren't interested in hearing from me. everyone in the 1k-5k or so sub zone is regularly producing content and replying to comments
