Kept looking for the perfect relationship and finding it with myself. I feel so at peace knowing my brain is stanning for me. I can be a grumpypoopoo and curse and sing and it will . . . just sort of exist and do its thing.

I felt content with the person I was with tonight. I couldn’t touch them, but they felt at home . . . welcome with me, all the same. I am a place to be with. I am a home to be with. And I can welcome you in.

For so long it was push energy out, shove energy out, hope it dazzled enough to invite people in. I don’t know if I want to be shiny anymore. I want to be of substance.

I still want to wear my glittery shirt and flaming purple pants, and I will not speak of either, just sit around the fire till you notice me. I am mud. I am returnèd to myself. I found a me you can be with instead of a me I wanted to present.

Others can feel at home with me when I am at home in myself.

It is not that we are ever not at home. We always are. It is simply that sometimes we are with our at-homeness and sometimes not.

It is not that someone else is at home or not at home. Part of them is already always at home, to the skillful observer. It is simply that some ways of being at home call forth at-homeness in others and others less so.

I wanted to stop looking for homes in other people. To stop and build my own right here, and I did. I forget to come back sometimes. But it’s there, and it exists now.

We visit each others’ and merge and play. But no longer act as if we must find someone else’s, we must find shelter there, to extend our stays longer than necessary.
