How to kill the past: Visualise all past cravings. What do you crave right now? Playing that video game again? Eating that eclair? Visiting another country?

Relive your memory of this again and again. Enjoy every bite. The first bite can be relived infinitely. Enjoy it over and over again. Coursing, caressing every bit. Till it feels a bit gross.

Imagine your craving now. Imagining fulfilling it. Living it out in full viscerality. You will be awe-struck at how unthirsty you now are. You have done it a million (or one) time before, and a million times again. You have bankrupted your past, and it no longer appeals to you.

To murder the future: Imagine all possible futures. Imagine the one you must accomplish. Project forward your default–probably future in the next 15 minutes, two hours, the whole day. Where you’ll be next month, in six months, 3 years from now. You almost surely have a guess.

Project forward this future and ask yourself: Is this really worth it? Imagine all of the future. The graduation, the dates, the promotions, the vacations. The grandkids, the highs, the lows, it all. And ask yourself: Is that still worth it?

If you find the answer is no, you have successfully murdered the future. You are free to go do something else now. Your life was literally not worth living. Beautiful, surely, like the first 3 movies of Star Wars, but not worth continuing beyond.

When you kill the past, bankrupt all your cravings, and murder the future, and all your barrellings, you are left with nothing and with looseness. All tightness is gone. Repeat as much as necessary. Kill all pasts. Murder all futures.

None of the futures are worth it. Each of the pasts only ever needed a second, no more.

Everything you ever want is already here in the present. Imagine the adventures you hope for, the spouse, the really good life. At the end of it . . . you are at the end of it, in this moment. Everything you ever want, every craving and need, is in timeline.

Smile, notice, observe in this timeline. Everything you possibly want is found in this internal resolution. Afterward, you’ll still live life, and it will still be joyful, but there won’t be the delision your life and its actions has anything to do with that internal resolution.

May whatever I imagine done I consider it done May whatever I imagine doing I feel done already It is done in my mind. That is all I needed If and when I do it, it will be smooth and equanimous

When I get to doing what I imagined done May I do it with joy If I get to it and find it died along the way May I go find what instead is alive Nothing matters except what is in this moment Not because the future is unimportant Because the now is timeless

Worry in the present, fret in the present Reminisce in the present, regret in the present Whatever I do, may I do in the present The future is here now, I be with it in this moment https://t.co/pP32GDuN8I

The future has a habit of turning into the present and going unnoticed. https://t.co/QB7YWjLxfh

When worried about what to do, with 5 different people to spend the night with, it’s possible to spend the night with all of them and with yourself not once at all. https://t.co/c1vRKk6c0N

When you live all possible futures, imagine the full dates in detail, you see the future too is empty. In that way, it becomes not worth it to leave the present. You perceive this so clearly your mind travels back to the present by itself. https://t.co/xrLwTewD3y

From there, the grasp on the present doing is so loose that whatever needs to happen happens joyfully and spontaneously happens, in accordance with what feels best, with far less grip. https://t.co/0aOoMNYZ0y
