If you want to test the impact of using high-heat + acid to degrade silicates and calcium's from rock samples, please be sure that you know the expansion co-efficient of the acids you boil in an instant pot. Also note that you'll likely destroy the liner.https://t.co/G2J7SZhm87

Placeholder

The silicon lid for instant pot liners seems to do a great job at locking in smells and preventing cross contamination from other items in a poorly kept fridge. Great for long term steeping. Just watch out the broth doesn't erode metal/ceramic of the pot.

If you decide it's a smart idea to seal an acid safe inner container and do "pot-in-pot cooking", make sure you don't accidentally make a bomb โ˜ ๏ธ due to pressure differentials. There's a reason why I think flexible silicon baggies might be a good idea.https://t.co/rtWkG1qDlD

Sealable glass mason jars are great for steeping herbs, but the weight of them is prohibitive for me. I've been looking at using reusable sealing silicon bags instead. Provided they aren't adulterated with other rubbers, I suspect they'll be safe to use. Haven't confirmed yet.
