Using metaphors to communicate more deeply depends on shared experiences. So of course someone with a different perceptive bias (autistic attentional disposition) are going to have trouble with understanding nominative metaphors.https://t.co/v5z73e5Wcz

Autistic people interpret metonymic imagery in a different way and so struggle to perform at expected age level? It's almost like metaphor is context dependent form of embodied cognition leaking into communication norms.https://t.co/0nboZokpUz https://t.co/7DR1H1AML3

If an orangutan could speak, do you think he'd teach his friends?Orangutan can invent their own words and use tools. Have shared culture. The person here is hinting at trying to reintegrate this one into the wild to seed sign language.https://t.co/cnWAEcxqXY

Worth noting that guy isn't doing a good job at train his cat to speak, only to press buttons. The process with cats is harder and needs more time to set up the idea that words have meaning. His approach was just operant conditioning, which isn't what is going on.
