First day testing 500mg "NOW" brand Taurine supplementation. I feel pretty good despite it being way way too hot in my space to do anything productive. (air conditioner shipment delayed!) https://t.co/57Mo5lu42m

Glycochenodeoxycholic acid is Glycine,Taurochenodeoxycholic acid is Taurine.Suggests both of these are important to have if you want functional bile acids.https://t.co/Xe4Z4wgOZV

Both the Taurine and GLycine are white colored powders. Need to figure out something (that isn't sugar) I can put in a pill to act as a placebo so I can do a self-blind. Does anybody know of a good choice?

Might mix get a big yogurt and split it into smaller containers and mix in doses. But I suspect I would taste the difference fairly easily.

I was thinking I can blend up my normal calcium supplements and put them in a pill? Finding it hard to think about something that wouldn't perturb the results. Calcium might impact my testosterone levels so I wanna void that.

Ooh, that might work (low glycimic index). Also just realized that I might be able to get away with collagen peptides since it would be such a small amount it'd probably not add much to what i'm already taking. Thnx! https://t.co/KrQgCl2lzW

There is some cysteine in my Muscle Milk that I use for breakfast, but there doesn't appear to be Taurine. Looks like collagen peptides are already loaded with Glycine, so will be interesting to find out if I get a result from supplementing with that in the future..

3rd day of Taurine. I feel somewhat more focused mentally and am more motivated. I am actually doing things like cleaning. That also means I tweet more (and maybe that's a bad thing?)Need to figure out how to redirect this energy into productivity.

Still having a lot of luck with 500mg Taurine helping with focus and clarity.I noticed it interact with my taste / pallet in an interesting way. Does anybody else notice changes in what they enjoy when taking it?Please DM me about it so not to pollute other's ideas.

I actually forgot to take it in the morning today (change in routine) and noticed I was scatterbrained. I was wondering what was up until I realized I still had the pill sitting out lol.

Going to consume some CBG (cannabigerol) and Capsaicin extract at same time b/c CBG seems to hit TRPA1 and Capsaicin hits TRPV1.CBG also seems to mute TRPM8; suggests enhancement thru interactions between TRPM8 => TRPV1.TL;DR: emulating garlic extract.https://t.co/gMlNVDyIa1

Placeholder
UltimApe@ultimape• about 5 years ago

@GentleMutt A garlic extract of Allicin might "help with digestion" because it seems to be metabolized into cysteine, which can further be turned into Taurine. Taurine is interesting to me right now b/c of impacts on Gaba and role in bile acids.https://t.co/j47Uf69Xfo

Allicin seems to do similar things to TRPM8 as CBG, so I find it fascinating.https://t.co/8oJCUXlJbVCBG on it's own via oral route gave me the sensation that occurs when I feel like I'm about to vomit.

Whoa, 5mg of CBG completely removed any sense of the Capsaicin in my mouth. Normally it burns like mad.

Still feels like I gotta vomit a bit. But I don't actually have nausea.I think i'm on the right track. Garlic causes nausea in people. If I took any more than 5mg of the CBG I bet i'd outright throw up. My throat feels like it's closing up / constricted and it's super annoying.

Last time my stomach was going crazy too, burping and bubbling like I drank a bunch of fizzy drink. Both the throat feeling and the stomach movement are less pronounced this time with the Capsaicin.

Ok, I can taste something at least. I remembered I had some sriracha. The vinegar seems to give me a feeling on my tongue. But its way different than normal (I use this all the time as my go to flavoring)

The "hot" sardine sauce did nothing for me. Real fresh Jalepeno definitely has a bite to it tho. So it might be something specifically about Cayenne based products in particular?

I noticed the shift in my pallet when I did the CBG, but I think it maybe an interaction with Taurine ala changes in Heat Shock Protein Expression. There are possibly other confounders in this space too that I haven't quite figured out.https://t.co/0bHwhwJqCk

I seem to be able to sense the spicy bit of the cayenne tincture. It's the same one as before, so it wasn't just a mistaken mixture.

Stopped Taurine for a month and just started again a few days ago. Taurine's impact on mood and taste takes a couple of days to really kick in. I suspect a microbiota shift due to bile acid changes.A friend mentioned same w/ straight Gaba - 3 days or so.

Makes me wonder how fast epigenetic changes in taste and smell might kick in if the microbes or chemicals themselves are changing gene expression somehow.

I figured out lemon+cayanne "Detoxes" that are often done in tandem with fasting are probably acting on bile function via their activity on TRPA1.I took a big chug of lemon juice and cayanne infused olive oil. About 30 minutes later I started sweating and felt itchy. Liver?

I also confirmed that fermentation of foodstuffs often increases Vitamin A and lowers vitamin C. This should work for most red plant foods, including carrot, but also spicy peppers. My next project may be to ferment hot sauce. https://t.co/4S8YtgCEKfhttps://t.co/Rvy5o8E56Z https://t.co/NGKRIL6en5
