Having a long process of trying to be honest and seek the truth about things will, over time, give you knowledge, which will give you power You will be often expected to be somewhat dishonest about this to protect the feelings of others

This is often framed as “tact” or “etiquette” or “courtesy”. There’s a spectrum. Some amount of tact is kindness, true But you can also be dishonest and claim you’re doing it to be kind, when you’re doing it to protect yourself Not saying that’s “bad”; it’s just how it is
