Herd Immunity also involves behavioral changes that make the group resistant to reinfection and disease burden.Even ants and bees isolate themselves to avoid epidemics, and they self medicate with different flowers and modulat their gut bacteria to help fight it.Stop.

R0 is high b/c people are ambulatory, incubation time is long, & symptoms are indistinguishable from the flu.We are also not testing enough people, Not doing contract tracing based tests, so we've got walking viral incubators infecting everything. We need mass behavior change.

Immunity isn't some magic system that happens when you get sick. its a biological process having to do with how your body recognizes and fights off diseases. Further, Herd Immunity is inter-playing with that and intermingling with behavior impacts on diet and spread-ability.

R0 is a two way street. Super-spreaders can't spread if you wear a mask (even a makeshift one helps more than nothing) and wash your hands. So don't lick peoples faces, and don't let people lick your face!
