my first personality developed out of playing up being wild and weird (almost class clown, but feels like a dif trope) i didn't "fit in", like the things other people did, nor matched their energy levels, so I leaned into it (this was like elementary school, no idea the impetus)

this evolved into something interesting "weird whacky kid" developed into something like Val's "Mythic mode" i made myself a role that, though still confining me in ways I only see now, gave me a LOT of slack in terms of expected behavior https://t.co/4mCu5PcD6m

this involved accumulating lots of random skills, mix of useful and non useful "of course hazard can juggle" having this as my "role" made it extra easier for me to disengage from parts of social reality https://t.co/6q8LH6d8ze

2 b clear, I was still constrained in that there were plenty of things I felt like I couldn't do but i could very easily reflect and how other people fit the social web, and was allowed to duck out of flows and trends that everyone else was expected to follow

lol, to acheive freedom, do not try to escape roles, but create a role as someone who can break rules reminds me of Feynman deliberately cultivating being "irresponsible" so people wouldn't ask him to do shit 🙃

@natural_hazard It also helps if you are a highly valuable genius, if Feynman is anything to go by.

@m_ashcroft yeah. early years for me, it was just being funny that let me get away with stuff since then i've developed a lot of... presence capital? it's generally enjoyable to be around me (i'm quite delightful irl) so that helps

@natural_hazard Anyone who describes themselves as quite delightful is alright by me.
