@lou_keep friend: I get the whole "affirm values" thing, but why does he say we have to lie to ourselves? Surely we can pursue value while not turning a blind eye to truth? me: maybe. in abstract. But part of Lou's whole shtick is about the high-modernist/platonism/scientism goop.../

@lou_keep when I read a book like The Courage to Be Disliked, I get a sense that they don't trust me to use a certain frame, and so insist that I talk about the topic from this other angle. so i need to be careful and see if I can apply the frame without destroying the good kush
