🧵 Thread (18 tweets)

I notice that @Twitter is experimenting with how it presents threads, prioritizing showing other people's replies to a thread over the continuity of the thread itself, making it look like threads end sooner than they do I knew the golden age of threading would end eventually https://t.co/7IwDM3XHOX

@Twitter wow so I've had 7 hours to get used to this and I really fucking hate it. it's completely broken my experience of twitter. I make threads so that I can revisit them. now I have to click dozens of times to expand my own replies on my own threads. seriously fuck this

Seriously FUCK THIS https://t.co/nh0fFcK3Yc

Found a workaround I have to search for my threads... in incognito Adds a whole unnecessary layer of fuckery but ok whatever https://t.co/Dm9oEn6PMT

twitter: let's optimize for replies by breaking threads! people: *start replying to earlier tweets in my threads with bits that are already addressed later in those now-broken threads* me: *starts replying by quote-tweeting later tweets from my threads* twitter: this is good!

@visakanv i only started writing on twitter a couple years ago, so seeing how threads used to load in their entirety is like - i didn't know what i'd been missing, AND, that feels like a quaint problem compared now when they're not showing that tweets are part of a thread at all!

@imhinesmi @Twitter there's two things here 1: I have thousands of threads and I don't remember what the last tweets of each thread are 2: even if I did remember, while it helps me find and read the threads, it still breaks my threads for everyone else
