@ultimape @InquilineKea @The_Lagrangian https://t.co/zxOfDTnJWl This is interesting, I didn't know about: tumors aren't so great as vascularizing themselves so they end ⬆️ with hypoxic zones of cells, and these areas of hypoxia are radiation resistant.

@ultimape @InquilineKea @The_Lagrangian Yeah, hypoxic areas stick around thru radiation treatment and revive the tumor. Some popular cancer meds effect the mechanism by which radiation damages the tumor cell DNA to make radiation more effective on hypoxic cells (though that paper says they didn't see this with fenben)
