a thing that I was very, very late to do, that I wish I did all the way back when I was maybe about 15? is to collect all of the good and nice things people say about you, all of your accomplishments, everything that you're proud of, and assemble them into a folder or notebook

my usual approach is to do twitter threads, but doing that publicly feels weird because it triggers people's anti-narcissist defenses, and that's a pain to deal with. so it's best done privately, or on an alt. I have a folder of screenshots on my desktop titled "you are loved"

I think even just a couple of years ago I would've (privately) thought something like "?? who needs that? that's so weak. you need a safe, controlled space to validate your feelings??" now I'm like, yes, it's like an oxygen chamber for high performance athletes

i'm not going into the folder to live there in some sort of protective cocoon state to hide from the world I go there to raise my depleted voltage so I can get back into the fight faster over time this means I fight longer and harder and accumulate more scars, not less

you know what's a trope that gets me good like, in School of Rock – Dewey, after trying to challenge and inspire the kids, gives up and decides that he's a loser but the kids decide otherwise this is one of the best feelings in the world. and you can incubate it https://t.co/KjTLNGkdcH
