Any sufficiently advanced network acting on information, when honed by evolutionary forces, is indistinguishable from intelligence.

Still got a ton of people to go thru, but I've already hit a sort of emotional snag in trying to absorb everyone's ideas. So far I've seen lots of hope and promise, but also a lot of pain.

Somebody DM'd me this question a few days ago:> "what do you think normie people would do if they believed in climate change with their actions rather than just their words"Afterwards I saw a couple of other tweets in my feed in the zeitgeist;

Somebody asking: Why does it seem like it's all posturing when something bad happens?https://t.co/lPnO8UR3Sc

Practically, it makes sense. If you can generate a critical mass in public sentiment while there's a salient rallying cry, you might be able to effect a preference cascade And if you might end up on the potential butt end of that cascade it's important to be extremely vocal too

I see it too. I read a lot of content about climate change/global warming and generally how to avoid various collapses.Even very well researched and comprehensively written article on the subject seem to always end with a line about how "and here's why Voldemort is bad".

It feels... like manipulation and petty squabbling. Like, if the entire planet is going to collapse in a massive ecosystem shift, and all you can think of is to shit on some public figure?It feels abusive. Like a sick derangement. It's agonizing to read again and again.

I think the more attuned ones among us (normies or otherwise) are realizing that this game is an illusion; that direct behavior is more meaningful.Or at least we've learned to tune out the collective shit throwing fest that infects us every 4 years here in 'merica. Cacophonous.

> "I don’t want to look back on my self and wonder how i could know what was unfolding and not change..."I'm just as lost as anybody else here. I wonder (hope?) that we're stuck in a reality tunnel, and there is hope.But i've noticed this pain isn't just on twitter anymore.

I feel torn. Like I'm contribute to bringing about the fall of humankind because I want food in my stomach. But is that really that bad? Last I checked, we were approaching 7589080000 people on this planet.I maybe see 2 or 3 people a day IRL.It's fucked up feeling to have.

I've been trying to align my own behaviors with climate/collapse by making my goals and desires match up with what I think matters.To keep my head down and keep moving forward.

I figure, I can't change who I am or impact my environment overnight, but only by slow methodical tenacity.Even when I make mistakes, I take comfort that I keep moving in that direction.But are we moving fast enough?

I tweeted out this article when was having this conversation. Thinking about the clichĂŠ of "It's a marathon, not a sprint".Trying to internalize what that means.https://t.co/Wd6E7D4PxL

With the weird way my brain works, sometimes big feelings only come out as broken poetry and half formed thoughts.Been thinking about what to do. What I can do. How to align myself with the future I want to see.https://t.co/qTSEmsjWsM

Somebody asked what that poem meant.I said "the people boat is Earth; We don't know what resources we have, so most options are worth trying."I realized it's a metaphor about bailing out a sinking ship. I had visions of the titanic flash in my head. Of everybody panicking.

In DM I finally found words:"With something so big, we need people focusing on fixing it, those helping us get thru it, and people building the life rafts in case we fail. I find myself gravitating toward the latter two, but cheer on those who are able to work on the first."

I figure some of the people I 'RT are going to read thru my tweets and they might come across this thread. and I hope they find their own words to deal with whatever is plaguing them, as painful as it is. Even if it's just to disagree with me.

Ribbonfarm meme infecting me in ~3days now?"I’ve had a rather stressful week due to a family emergency, and one of the things that’s been most helpful is the one day at a time and it’s a marathon, not a sprint genre of aphorisms."https://t.co/k9zho9fto8https://t.co/kvTLjbxtnL

What's really fun is I can trace the two memes that resonated that (marathon, sprint) in me by way of emotional contagion directly from ribbonfarm. The question is then, why did it also resonate in vgr?What cultural touchpoint lead to that as a Schelling point in our response?
