I wonder how long until we start seeing spy satellites being shot out of the space using lasers. https://t.co/RVwnuoAr5p

Part of me thinks that the orbital satellite thing being done to make global internet work is actually a cover for short range inter-satellite warfare.https://t.co/2TkJyf3zxq

Another comment shows a handheld artillery surveillance drone. I have this idea in one of my notebooks. On the next page is calculations of how much forces is needed to suspend a weight a "coke can" in the air for about 20 minutes to spec battery size.https://t.co/FhlP2ROlII

I tried to kickstart the open-source attacknid because I saw this video in 2014https://t.co/4UAkStZacu

I collect information about robots. It doesn't matter what they do. I saw this back when I was thinking about drones and wondered how long it would take before it was miniaturized. The rest of the mini thread also shows a miniature version.https://t.co/dYc5pyZYb6

And @johnrobb's latest retweet is about drones shooting rockets.( link, in case tweet is deleted: https://t.co/7S2k9p3Fgn )https://t.co/ybCLq970fj

"can now form swarms and engage in coordinated strikes"Meh. Some of the research on swarming behavior I was following a while back was suddenly classified. I figure we've been able to do that for a while now.https://t.co/Mecc0qcqBD

That wolf-pack algo thing is being used as a means for drones to test weaknesses in enemy defenses by treating the wolf's hunting system as a constraint optimization problem - exploring optima by sacrificing drones. If they don't howl, there is no prey (value) there.

Or more specifically, they're treating swarms as a "Multiple Traveling Salesman Problem" and trying to minimize 'cost' of exploring the frontier of unexplored nodes collaboratively. There is a way to do it with ant colony algos too https://t.co/PqeVaZck6m

But what do I know about that?https://t.co/r8HzAao1qJ

"Collective Bayesian Collaborative Ratchet" is just #beehiviorism in a nutshell.I think this is how we learn.https://t.co/WHZ0wBGNMY

Its not much of a leap from that to the fear of militarizing of machine intelligence as a result of escalating technology.https://t.co/S99ekBK1LC

You can make your own pretty easily. Most of them use the same kind of light sensor within Lego Mindstorms kit, tho the voltage sensing is more refined.https://t.co/u4OxeEhUEUI was beaming waveform signals around my house with Legos when I was 12.https://t.co/yeUiXfuHZk

I learned to code "Not Quite C" because I needed to use it to have the RCX brick send out IR pulses to the light sensor to measure distance to the stabilized inverted pendulum. Another motor controlled valves for pneumatic system to control 'hips'.BEAM robots were so cool.

You can get "sub-micron vibration measurement" if you are better at making your laser. https://t.co/M1MuZqDf4S

All the better if you understand a bit about literal quantum interference to be dangerous. https://t.co/aiPwWvxldN

@TheoryBitcoin @balajis Nuclear balance is going away thanks to science and progress making it possible to see all the nuclear submarines that have kept us at a stalemate. Every nuclear power I could find is building lasers to shoot satellites. Cold war never ended, it just became space race.

I'd also recommend reading RAND's"Overextending and Unbalancing Russia" https://t.co/hEHrn1Ih7hTo get an idea about what the large scale political posturing / economic games are about.https://t.co/RHjx4MN0Ks

@realjdburn Interestingly, it seems to me this very desire to protect the masses from cult-of-personality almost directly incentivize the demagogues to rise up as leaders to guide the herd away from the wolves. Seems almost self-bootstrapping when you take a long view.
