surprising to realize that I'm not exactly entirely sure what I think is the most exciting thing in the world right now if I go by my own internal compass/gyroscope, I think it's the fact that people dramatically still underestimate how much social capital you can create online

"why should I care about social capital" well if you don't then you don't have to, but if you're curious โ it feels to me like it's effectively an infinite resource to be mined. anybody can show up in the world and earn the love and affection of millions w/o diminishing others

@kevin2kelly has been talking about 1000 true fans for 10+ years. It's truer than ever and it's never been easier to do. What I've found is that even 50 true fans create a psychological home, a sense of belonging. 50 true fans challenge & nourish you https://t.co/MviIMlMILA

I'd scream this from the rooftops โ I can hop on a plane to most major cities in the world and likely have a friend somewhere who I can crash with. *because of my tweets*. how wild is that?? for someone who grew up feeling like an outcast, misfit, an outsider? I am at home on ๐

what is jarring to me is that there are people who have the opposite experience โ people who feel ostracized, outcast, unwanted, unloved. people who are refugees, whose attempts at migration are met with suspicion. people who are homeless not just physically but psychologically

there is a lot more to this picture that I don't understand, but I'd like to. I don't know how to solve massive problems for the world, but I've partially solved a problem that was massive for me (insufficient social capital) and I'd like to articulate + share it
