Dropped by Uber’s office to chat with @altimor over lunch - “office” feels like a misnomer, the place feels huge & is bustling with people. It feels like a small city, and the design is self-similar to the app/brand. Interesting to contrast it with Google SG; very different vibe https://t.co/WC0wCKahO5
Next I was received by @amulyaraja, who walked me around City Hall, which seems to be a mandatory wedding photo shoot site. We saw like 5 couples while talking and people-watching. Lovely, intricate architecture https://t.co/P6ZRnzjOAP
Next, I went up to the Ferry Building to rendezvous with @brianmwang - my feet were aching at this point so we got some drinks, sat by the bay and talked about online vs offline communication, traumas, self inquiry, therapeutic people, making friends and helping others https://t.co/XY8c8Kgb1x

Next, @nicklovescode had me over at the OpenAI office, and then he brought me to this Mexican food place for dinner. Nick is neck-deep in the technical stuff of AI, so we spent the night on broader questions like “what is intelligence?” and “what does artificial really mean?” https://t.co/ToI87j0AIe

Nick was heading home in an Uber and offered to send me back too. It’s a small gesture but I found myself getting emotional about it. I felt like some sort of Infinity Gauntlet, being passed from nerd to nerd, people taking care of me and making sure I got to where I needed to go https://t.co/4GXdlY1aow
