while early-mover network effects are a thing, IMO people really underestimate the work. 100k of people will RT something like "I wish I started a blog in 1999" or "I wish I started a youtube channel in 2005" but what % of ya'll publish anything anywhere regularly for 10 years?

I sometimes joke "who is this Pewdiepie person, never heard of him" – but the fact is he has published over THREE THOUSAND AND SEVEN HUNDRED VIDEOS. IMO, make and publish 1,000+ of *anything* before you gripe about missing some boat or hype train. Makers are usually busy making.

Girlfriend Reviews published their first video in November 2018- about 6 months before OP posted something like “I wish I started a YouTube channel in 2005”. of course, not everyone who started a YouTube account in late 2018 has a million subs today. Shelby and Matt are exceptionally talented and have picked a killer angle on a great niche. Still. All of that is figure-outable if you’re persistent and curious and iterate and learn
