I wanna playfully try to gatekeep 'the act of gatekeeping' to understand it better.But If I say "some blame gatekeeping as a way to undermine those they don't like & aren't really gatekeeping." I may be seen as trying to gatekeep.TFW: gatekeep'd over meta gatekeeping. 🙃
TBH; I struggle to see the appropriate boundaries among meta-gatekeeping. Under a lens of autopoeisis it seems like it's gatekeeping all the way down, and what we're really talking about is a sort of overton window style construct & a struggle to defines acceptable gatekeeping.

When there are no gatekeepers at the gates, those with privilege, being lead by the dominate egregre, end up recreating their own. Before you know it, cultures begin appropriating the commons, erecting fences, charging rents. Your once grand edifice topples before moloch.

I think virtue signaling (both reinforcement and punishment) is really a subset of information gatekeeping. With status acting as rough proxy for group trust and notoriety, which aids in information transfer via familiarity. I cut to the chase & work directly on IQ signaling.
