I've opened up a semi-private @AREdotNA group for curating {ideas, projects, initiatives} stemming from an obsession I call "Bootstrapping Civilization".It is a work-in-progress.Read about it here:https://t.co/LRLa4G47N0Explore ala the 'index' view:https://t.co/LCof7PPIij https://t.co/ezmjDhx1HY

This group (Homeostatic Mechanisms) is loosely based on the "Simple Critical Infrastructure Maps" framework from https://t.co/NOvfVPl0Ss and can be considered a start at building out an interactive 'Hitchhiker's Guide' for exploring ways of acting on the problems it highlights.

My intention is to open the group up to other contributors down the road, but for the time being I am keeping membership closed. This is to avoid the chaos of organizing things while I work out better ways of structuring the content and content guiding people on its use.

I welcome you to add relevant content (channels?) to the public channel https://t.co/RhrPpOkBK0 and comments on blocks.I'll be combing thru them over time and will be continuing to flesh out the group for the foreseeable future.

I'm unlocking my twitter for a while because I really care about the project.I've been collecting ideas like this since 2010.You can also retoot a version of this thread over on the federation.https://t.co/EbNtiigdg9

I made chart showing how to translate between 'Survival Rule of Threes', HomeMech's Homeostasis bits, categories within the Simple Criticical Infrastructure Mapping, and Whatever it is that @desantis is doing over here: [https://t.co/rD5ZzwdpsG](yuml https://t.co/JfT2uPFNHb) https://t.co/zb9ZN7axJK

One of the wonderful things about the SCIM is you can use it as a framework for what you'll need to survive in rough situations. Part of why I'm building out that https://t.co/sxj3oeyD2N group is to get a better handle on that way of thinking.https://t.co/kIgcguczkC

I just acquired a tent+canopy for half the price of a hexayurt.(winter sales to clear out inventory for new models)Savings mean I can get an ultra low temperature sleeping bag.I have enough of handle on my depression that I can manage this now:https://t.co/40L9iacvtV

I found in my notes a reference to a google doc that explores basic camping for a festival environment - the kind of thing where you'll need to survive for a week or so.It's a good example of exploring SCIM under a particular context.https://t.co/PgcDNdvdKz

A side project helping to build out the resources within the [HomeMech] idea is exploring what it would take to live In the woods and survivalist camping.Still a lot of loose ends, but I'm happy with how it's organized so far.https://t.co/DUOYkqN0fx

I've also spent tons of time reviewing+curating content around that #vanlife thing all those hip millennial are doing. My intention is to transition from camping into living out of a bike, and then bootstrap toward a living in a van with my girlfriend.https://t.co/UDcRGMmZUS

All the better to build a hexayurt with, my dear.https://t.co/PoIhKT4FLw
