Finally watching Clueless. What an irreverent film š https://t.co/bOLGn1Vj9R

Itās refreshing in how it doesnāt seem to give a damn about where you think itās going to go. It certainly has its own sense of rhythm and interest. It feels almost like reading someoneās blog, actually https://t.co/U3e4go4jmT

Thereās something about Cherās disposition thatās unlike anything else Iāve seen in pop culture. I think... I would describe her... as a teenage, underdeveloped Margaery Tyrell. Sheās confident and has doubts, likes being popular and likes helping people. Multi-dimensional https://t.co/I0ijfxY1w7

(Margaery by the way was my favourite character in Game of Thrones - complex, multi-faceted, thoughtful and kind to others while simultaneously rigorous in pursuing her own self-interest... I was extremely mad when they killed her in a damn cop-out of a bomb blast) https://t.co/EKy8k0jeIw

@visakanv Cersei oozes with "I am a ruthless killer. If you don't know that, you are bad at this game." Cersei is alive and Margaery is dead because only one of them believes that queens don't kill queens. (Not endorsing that logic, but Game of Thrones basically does.)

A thing I like about Clueless (also true of Easy A) is that itās comfortable being smart. It doesnāt dumb itself down for its audience - itās cool with some jokes going go over peopleās heads. It doesnāt try to slap you in the face with the smartness either (eg how Sorkin does) https://t.co/EwWEe4vRZE

[During PE, the girls are playing tennis š¾] AMBER: āMs. Stoeger, my plastic surgeon doesnāt want me doing any activities where balls fly at my nose!ā DIONNE: https://t.co/d3FIjyr2AA

There are all these interesting little throwaway details: - Cher obsesses about getting her dad to eat healthy - Dionne accidentally drives onto the freeway and freaks out - the film makes sure to show you the details of the girlsā grooming - a nervous mugger says thank you https://t.co/j8w8zJXcD8

Also, there was a 2001 Space Odyssey reference šš with a phone as the monolith, and the appropriate music https://t.co/wnD0rqFBpY

rewatching Clueless again and itās so enjoyable, so much effort out into little details. Hereās Paul Rudd reading Nietzsche https://t.co/OuuNXQpMAo
