I love hearing about military leaders who are sensitive and empathetic, adored by their men. This is #goals and it's reminding me of the handful of high-functioning men who inspired me during my own military stint https://t.co/N5ttDHVhcD https://t.co/e59ZWnQYdO

My sec school principal, Low Eng Teong. He was a reservist Major at the time. I asked him about his army experience when I visited as alumni; he told me it was important that he was in the top 20% of fitness to earn the respect of his troops. Thoughtful guy, he's also a painter https://t.co/oeAmSOGBJ0

I'm trying to find my one of my commanders – Major Simon. Can't remember his surname. But I remember on my first day being posted to that unit, he personally came to visit me to ask me how I was doing, and if there was anything he could do to make my life better. Blew my mind

At some point I was support crew to SG's Red Lions – parachute-specialist commandos. Those guys gave me a model of masculine excellence that I still carry with me today. No nonsense. No egos. Extreme precision, focus, clarity in comms. I was proud to be a water boy for these guys https://t.co/sGpcPfUHYI
