Saw a boy playing with a toy balloon gun a few days ago and it’s still on my mind - thinking about kids playing cops and robbers, and our cultural concepts of / relationship with violence and the tools of violence

On a related note - war movies are interesting, aren’t they? Rewatching American Sniper and marveling at the amount of effort it takes to train actors to be soldiers operating military hardware onscreen

It’s so tragically poetic that Chris Kyle - who seemed like such a kind, respectful person - was shot dead by a disturbed veteran. Makes me really sad to think about it. He seemed like a good, honorable man who cared about others. He deserved better 😕 https://t.co/9knOYWLKY9
